I’ve made no secret of the fact that I love dogs. I do not, however, have the patience, perseverance, or absolute dedication as those who work in rescue organizations. I can only applaud their work. There is an army of unsung, unknown volunteers out there who work tirelessly for animals of all kinds. You don’t see them in the news. They don’t demand recognition, but each day they give of their time, their money, and themselves to rescue dogs who’ve been abused, who need homes, or have been found on city streets.
This holiday season perhaps we could all make a donations – of any size – to a rescue organization in our cities. I know they would appreciate it.
Okay, now that the PSA is over, I want to tell you the story of Chili. Nature Fresh Farms produces bell peppers. Last year they were nearly destroyed because of a pepper weevil. (Who knew there was such a thing as a pepper weevil?) Anyway, they took drastic steps to prevent their crops from being overrun again. Meet Chili, that drastic step.
Here’s an article about the company.
Seriously, don’t you just love dogs?
