The other day around Noon, I offered Flash some lettuce, a treat he loves. Sometimes, I put his lettuce on a paper plate and give it to him. Today I was offering him a wedge from my hand, expecting that he would take it and trot off to his kitchen bed like he often does.
As I was handing it to him, I dropped a few leaves on the floor. He was so occupied with getting the lettuce on the floor that he ignored the big chunk in my hand.
I couldn’t help but wonder how many times we, as humans, do the same thing: either miss the bigger offering for something smaller, or concentrate on the stuff that’s fallen on the floor instead of the the good stuff?
