One of the side effects is drowsiness. Pardon me, but that’s not the right term. The correct terminology is: Sledgehammer Time!
About an hour after taking the pill – which I have to take twice a day – I can be anywhere and feel this sinking sensation. I know I better get somewhere either vertical or in my comfy chair/sofa/recliner. The sledgehammer is about to descend. I am going to sleep for twenty minutes at least. I’ve gotten very good at falling asleep at my desk with my feet up, my hands on the keyboard.
The doctor says I’ll get used to this effect. Um, it’s been nine weeks. At the end of four weeks I actually went three or four days without a “nap” but then it started again.
Yesterday, however, I realized that I’ve scheduled my day around my two naps. Flash came and sat beside me, settled in with a soft whooshing sound as I started to doze off. I could feel the ceiling fan stirring the air, hear the rustle of the branches in the tree outside and the soft cooing of a dove. I was so totally comfy that I smiled as I dozed off, waking up twenty minutes later with my mouth open and probably snoring.
I have to tell you how nice it was. It was quiet and peaceful and very restorative.
The funny thing was, the other day I forgot to take my pill but I still had my nap.
How about you? Do you doze off during the day?
